My CCR
How Do I integrate technologies in this project?
For this project I started off trying out a bunch of different Canon cameras to see which ones I felt would be best and easiest to work with. I'm not exactly a wiz with cameras so this was really my first time ever filming something, especially of such importance. I narrowed it down to me just using one the Alpha cameras due to it having what seemed to be the easiest controls. I only used my phone to film one of the scenes I had...and that was because it was a last minute thing I had to do, due to it being the deadline to submit. When it comes to the editing software I used.. I used Adobe Premier Pro and I even tried using photoshop and Canva. Canva was used for me to edit my movie poster (which turned out great) and I used photoshop to try and make the background darker on a couple scenes I had. Overall I would say the stuff I used turned out to be very efficient in my editing process and I even learned a couple new things since it was my first time using a camera, Premier Pro, and Photoshop.
How did my production skills develop throughout this project?
Well, I would say they developed a lot, especially since this was my first time ever doing something like this. I first learned how to properly plan and what it takes to plan out a film. My teacher already explained what it was that filmmakers have to do in order to even be able to begin to pick up a camera, such as making a script, making a shot sheet, story board, and getting the right people to act in your film. When it came to getting the right people I learned that before just picking someone It was smarter to get the person who fits most with your character (I know see why we had to make character sheets). I had to learn to be flexible with my creativity and not allow stuff to get me stressed if it didn't go as planned or my film and shots started to float away from what was in my script.
How does my project Use or challenge conventions?
It challenges the fact that drugs are ok and supposed to just be accepted. I said before that I was basing my film off of the HBO show Euphoria and that is what I did. The only thing I did different was show the blank effects drugs give a person as well as the slow kind of world it can put people in, while on the other hand Euphoria does show the AA meetings people have to attend but it also shows the glorified effects people BELIEVE it has, when that isn't all true.
How does my Project engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
The way my project engages the audience is by confusing them and making people think. Think things such as what is this about, what is going on, and one of the main questions I get is why is everyone so still? That was actually my original goal..to have my audience asking questions. I think it could be distributed as a real media text in such a way that it shows people how still and dull drugs and drinking can be. It shows that drugs and drinking isn't as fun and glorious as people "specifically teens" think it is. (HINTS WHY MY FILM IS DARK AND THERE ISNT ANY MOVEMENT HAPPENING).
How does my project represent social issues?
My project represents the use of teen drinking and teen drug abuse, which is now, and always has been very common among teens. Teens take drugs and they drink because they think it's cool and it's all fun, but my film shows how lonely it is and how paused your life can be in a way because of it.
