Visions, Shrooms, Finally, or They Got It

Image
The film I'm currently working on is going to be taking a look into the psychology of the mind, what it means to be psychedelic, and what it means to be in a euphoric state. I chose my film to be an overall psychological horror film because for one horror is one of my favorite genres, and two psychology is something I want to major in when I get into college as well as it being a part of what I want to be when I get older. Besides that, I'm going to be including physical items such as MUSHROOMS and CANDY in my opening so that it will aid in the representation of the euphoric and psychedelic states that will be acted out. I want this film even though it's only 2 minutes and even though it will only be the OPENING to a movie, to confuse my audience along with some being able to relate to it. For my characters, I will be using teenagers and little kids instead of adults because YES my opening will be dealing with drugs and a bit of violence but in my opinion, that's just ...

US

Now let's talk about the Horror Genre The google definition of the "horror genre" is  " a  genre of literature, film, and television  that is meant to scare, startle, shock, and even repulse audiences." When thinking of horror it's automatic to believe it's going to be some devilish, hardcore, and repulsing movie/show but the truth is there are many different forms. Horror can be in the form of a comedy, a mystery, or even a cartoon meant for children. It's apparent that the origin of something being a horror film is usually going to involve scary creatures but there are some films that are classified to be horror and when you watch it nothing about it may look scary and yet it still incites fear. The movie "US" is a great representation of that. In the movie you see the villains are actually yourself and instead of the director making the villains aka "the tethered" look creepy he makes them look identical to the ones above (th...

Forsythe Pendleton Jones III or......just Jughead🕮

Image
Ok so your probably trying to figure out why some guy named Forsythe is the topic of discussion. Jughead🠋 The truth is Jones isn't the topic. In this post, I'll be discussing the Psychedelic State. As stated in my last post I will be adding things dealing with Euphoria in my opening but I will also be putting looks at what a person in a Psychedelic state would seem like. You see, I want my 2 minutes to be relatable to some, confusing to some, and overall different than what any of my peers have. My goal for my film was to number 1, win the competition we will be having at my school, number 2, pass the Cambridge exam, but 3, I also wanted to make something that could possibly inspire others to make a film that isn't in their comfort zone along with making something that could wow the viewers. Personally, I believe I did just that. I finished my script yesterday with the help of a fellow peer of mine and that same peer before being able to help me read my script and got quie...

Euphoria

Image
In my film, I have 1 main character and that character is inspired by Rue from the show Euphoria. Since I want to show what it looks like to be having a euphoric experience in my film I thought it would be best to somewhat mimic that of Rue in Euphoria. In the show, Rue is a drug addict and she is constantly hurting the other people around her for her own selfish needs. I took that and implemented it into my 2 minutes.  Now, I don't want to say what exactly I have that will replicate that because I don't want to spoil it but just know it will be good. I'm sorry that this post is short but I'm really behind on my post's so I'll explain deeper in my next one. I am still open to constructive criticism or any comments that you may have that could help me make my film better, but for now goodbye😊

so i guess this is called the intro😅

Hey... I'm Amariyah. I attend Lauderhill 6-12 and I'm making this blog for my AICE Media studies class. Basically, my school (the high school part mainly) deals with Cambridge and in Cambridge, we are required to pass 7 tests so that we can get a scholarship for college. In this Media studies class for our "test", we have to make a two-minute "movie opening", make a blog for that "movie", and we also have to do an essay on the first 5 minutes of a random show. Besides that within this blog, I will be updating throughout the weeks until early April on what my progress is looking like for my movie opening and some information about a few films mine will mimic in a way, and how I've come up with what I've done. There will be things such as pictures, videos, etc. With all of that being said I am open to positive constructive criticism and any type of comments from whoever.
